The testbed is called the “Fast-Time Autonomy Playground.” The testbed will be capable of simulating futuristic operations of multiple autonomous systems in a non-real-time or fast-time environment.

An autonomy API will be a major feature of this platform and will provide capabilities to enable simple connection of externally developed algorithms in multiple different languages. Several examples of such algorithms are trajectory generators, conflict resolution, and autopilots for autonomous vehicles.

The successful candidate for this position will be the software engineer extending and modifying NASA’s RACE framework, written in Scala, to integrate autonomy tools.
